Seems like the problem is FIXED after upgrading KDE to the latest version
released recently in kubuntu-backports repository.
Update included:
- KDE Frameworks version changed from 5.88.0 to 5.89.0
- KDE applications updated from 21.08 to 21.12 versions
Linux: Ubuntu 21.10
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.89.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
