            Bug ID: 366423
Summary: kcmshell3 kscreen does not allow adjusment of
                    resolutions/unify/...
           Product: KScreen
           Version: 1.0.5
          Platform: Mageia RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kcm
          Assignee: se...@kde.org
          Reporter: un...@physics.ubc.ca

If I run kcmshell4 kscreen, I get a single window with a representation of the
screens connected to the laptop. But there is no ability to alter anything
about them. If I run SystemSettings->Display and Monitor->Display Configuration
I get the same picture of the two screens, but now there is a panel such that
if I select one of the screens I can alter the resolution, the orientation,
whether to enable it, whether I want to unify the outputs, etc. That panal does
NOT exist when I run kcmshell4 kscreen (or kcmshell kcm_kscreen) This is on a
Panasonic S10 toughbook laptop.
It has an Intel graphics card
lspci output:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core
Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)

rpm -qf /usr/bin/kcmshell4
kdebase4-runtime-4.14.3-5.mga5

rpm -q kscreen
kscreen-1.0.71-3.mga5

rpm -qf /usr/lib64/libkscreen.so.1
lib64kscreen1-1.0.5-4.mga5

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run kcmshell4 kscreen and see the two representations of the two monitors
connected to the laptop (the laptop screen and the external monitor) but
nothing else. No panel below to change resolutions, etc even if I select one of
the monitor representations.
2.Close the above and now do SystemSettings_>Display and Monitor->Display
configuration.
Get the same representation as in 1 but this time if I select one of the
screens I can change its resolution, Enable it, change the orientation, Unify
the displays, etc.
3.

Actual Results:
See the description above

Expected Results:
The two should produce identical results. I should be able to adjust stuff with
kcmshell4 kscreen as well as with SystemSettings.

Mageia5 kernel 4.1.13
uname -a
Linux planet 4.1.15-desktop-2.mga5 #1 SMP Wed Jan 20 17:05:51 UTC 2016 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Note that this was also a problem with earlier versions of Mageia. Ie, this is
not a sudden bug.
