I did some more testing and ran into another issue with this specific filter.
Not sure if it is related, so I add it to this issue.

Power and Slope do not work when a new document is created from within Krita.
This issue does not show when you import/drop an external document into Krita.

The issue can be solved (half) by increasing the default 0,0,0 setting in the
Offset option to 1,1,1. This will make Power functional, Slope will still not
work, though.

This issue is specific to 5 Beta (tested with krita-5.0.0-beta5 and
krita-5.0.0-beta5-git_0e4b844-x86), it does not show up on 4.4.8

I uploaded 2 video's that show both scenarios.

This is not 8 bits and the default profile specific (as shown in the video). I
also tried combinations of 8, 16 or 32 bit with different profiles: Same
result.

The initial problem, Power showing the complementary colour, is seen in all of
the examples.
