Bug ID: 446212 Summary: Placing widgets into taskbar won't scale properly nor update the widgets when updating style Product: plasmashell Version: 5.23.3 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: slartibar...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 I am using fedora35, intel gpu and tried on wayland and X11 (both the same) Steps: 1. add widgets (from desktop context menu) 2. select cpu use and network speed widgets, drag them to the desktop Any change you make with the widgets when configuring appearance (display style) have immediate effect. 3. go to 'enter edit mode' by context-menu on taskbar First bug: the context-menu entry does not change to sth. like 'leave edit mode', instead it shows 'enter edit mode' all the time (but 'ends' edit mode if you select it again) 4. place the widgets on the taskbar in between icons only task manager and system tray problems (important): - any changes on the widgets style, e.g. change from pie chart to bar chart (or similar) won't update the widget. You need to drag it off the taskbar to the desktop, change again and then the changes are visible/widget is updated. problems (cosmetic): - The style settings do not really suit a taskbar placement. "Text only" is way to big (example: network speed takes a huge amount of horizontal space because of its labels, same for cpu/text only) - The scalings (e.g. barcharts) are to small to be usable. There are other widgets (e.g. https://store.kde.org/p/1527636/) which do this better (but, they have other problems: they don't scale with the taskbar height nor with the display-configuration 'scale' parameter) I would appreciate the 'default' widgets to be usable in taskbar as well, maybe with some special mode that is suitable for such a small space -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
