Hi, it's hard to see the effect with the JPG compression of your screenshot
attached. Gradients really improved in Krita 5 (not released, still beta, but
release is for soon). Suggestion:
1. Can you tell the more about the color space of your document? the color
management in settings?
2. Can you test if the blocky gradient is gone for you on "Krita Plus"
https://krita.org/en/download/krita-desktop/ (scroll the bottom part of the
page, middle column over the white background).
