Have a look at Bug 406506, where the columns are not populated if baloo is
disabled/baloo index deleted.
You need to enable content indexing to extract ID3 tags, such as duration. They
are "within" the file and the file needs to opened and read to extract them.
Dolphin reads this info from the baloo index (that is, from one place) rather
than trying to extract the embedded info from each file.
