Bug ID: 445567 Summary: Feature Request: aggregate the snap/flatpak/deb/other packaging formats of the same app into one single entry, and then give the option to manually install any type. Product: Discover Version: 5.23.3 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: discover Assignee: lei...@leinir.dk Reporter: random1123581...@protonmail.com CC: aleix...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Currently, different packages of the same app are not grouped, and the ratings are split between the apps. Also, it is very hard to find a (say) Flatpak version of a Snap app that was found through the search, if one prefers Flatpak over Snap. If the apps were grouped into one single entry, then the user manually choose to install it through apt/flatpak/snap/etc. There might be problems in terms of (say) the flatpak version being buggy and the snap version being good, and I don't know how to solve that problem yet, but this might be worth considering. I believe the Pop!_OS Shop does this, but I'm not sure. STEPS TO REPRODUCE n/a OBSERVED RESULT It is hard to find apps, and different packages of apps are hard to find if we prefer one packaging format over the other. EXPECTED RESULT It be easier to find the different format packaging for the apps, and also the ratings be combined so that the apps are more clearly rated rather than it being split across multiple entries of the same app. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS n/a, but KDE neon 5.23 User ADDITIONAL INFORMATION none -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
