While this does apply cleanly to the dolphin 21.08.3 release branch, it does _not_ fix the problem, at least not on X11. Whether or not it works on wayland I don't know, and frankly don't care, as plasma (along with pretty much everything else) on wayland is still largely unusable for people who actually want their system to do productive work.
