In my case some of them were read only (I've set them so time ago) and caused problems. As I said everything works better now, but to reach a good result I need to perform the steps in a very specific order or I can still end up in bad configurations. As an example Working process: 1. Laptop only (so primary) - Place a panel 2. Attach external monitor - Set external monitor as primary (panel is not moved from laptop to external) - Move the panel manually to the external screen 3. Detach external monitor - Panel moves to laptop correctly Non working process: 1. Laptop only (so primary) - Place a panel 2. Attach external monitor - Set external monitor as primary (panel is not moved from laptop to external) 3. Detach external monitor - Panel disappears 4.
