This specific use case is now solved with :

Scheduled for Plasma 5.24 (sad it got missed for 5.23).
However the issue is not solved when one wants to select more than one
activity.
I'll make this a duplicate of Bug 430440 which original talks about the same
use case as this one but then highlight the wider issue.
