But there's something more than that, look at the attachment 139671, 56.5% zoom, high quality filtering smooths pixels out but the line appears "wavey", should it work like that? Can it be improved? Also you can restrict zoom levels to integers only when nearest neighbor is enabled (if user wants to see pixels at close zoom, user expects them to look sharp anyway?).
