For programs that do not create temporary files to change the image, the album modification date remains the same. Let's see, either the quick scan is optional, which detects new, deleted and renamed items, or I can think of something else. ((:-)) Even in a slower scan, at least the halving of the scan time would be retained. However, you must also note that with the old scan method, items whose modification date was reset (for example another digiKam instance with the active option in the metadata settings), possibly no change was detected either.
