I'm affected as well. Unfortunately this happens most of the time when logging
in and it's a huge deal breaker for me. My Lenovo X1carbon gen6 is connected to
an external 27" Dell monitor but has its own internal panel disabled
("clamshell mode"). Let me know if I have to provide moer information.
