Please don't re-open bugs that are marked RESOLVED INTENTIONAL if you disagree
with the reasoning.
You can already assign the shortcut yourself if you prefer minimization to the
"Show Desktop" effect. Since you've done that, you personally have managed to
satisfy yourself. Asking for your customization to be made the default amounts
to claiming that it would be better for everyone, and I don't see how it would
be, given that there is already an alternative global-shortbut-based means of
accomplishing the same goal (show the desktop).
