I can confirm that this happens to me. i close the laptop lid while an external
monitor i plugged in and i immediately get put on Lockscreen, then the laptop
suspends. It only happens on the Wayland session, here are my specs:

KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.13.8-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-8350U CPU @ 1.70GHz
Memory: 15.4 GiB of RAM
