It was designed to be optional. No one will bother to file a bug report.
I wonder whether it is really the MR that was "half-baked" or rather the
developers' decision.

I find it awkward that you [the developers] argue on an issue with 8 duplicates
and lots of comments, that you *might* *possibly* get bug reports when
disabling dimming and making it *optional* in the settings.
As I already suggested repeatedly, if you fear introducing new issues (which is
an extremely unlikely scenario), then make it disabled by default.

Anyway, this discussion is getting a waste of time, as you [the developers]
(apparently) will not do anything, despite lots of good arguments and
constructive criticism.
Therefore, I'll look into building Present Windows myself, the version I like.
I hope this procedure is documented and does not involve compiling the whole
KWin.
