I doubt it has anything to do with llvm, it's do do with lld, which is much
more obscure as I suspect most users of llvm based compilers probably still
link with binutils.
Almost certainly this is the same as BZ#439046 which has much better diagnostic
information so I'm going to close this as a duplicate.
