SUMMARY
With the addition of the new search feature in the global menu on wayland, I
think that utilizing this functionality would be a lot easier with a keyboard
shortcut. While it is possible to trigger the global menu itself with a
keyboard shortcut. You have to use the arrow keys to get to the last item which
is the search field. If we bind the search field in the global menu to say the
alt key. It would be a lot fewer clicks/ keyboard strokes to get to this
feature. If it isn't possible to create a shortcut for an item within a widget
then I think the search field should become the first item in the global menu.
That way the normal keyboard shortcut for activating the global menu will
automatically open on the search field when pressed.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use plasma wayland session
2. Enable global menu.
3.Either click on the search field and then within the box to search for
something or setup and use a keyboard shortcut to activate the global menu and
then navigate to the search entry.
OBSERVED RESULT
Notice the amount of mouse movement and keyboard combinations it takes to get
to the search entry.
EXPECTED RESULT
A single keyboard shortcut should get you to the search entry so that you can
quickly find what you are looking for.
