            Bug ID: 365614
Summary: KDE Neon 5.7 gets stuck on the login screen after
                    entering password
           Product: neon
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Neon Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: grave
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: tarungav...@gmail.com
                CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org

I installed KDE Neon 5.7 Dev Git Stable using Rufus on an ext4 partition
(dual-booting with Windows 10). I have severe issues with logging in.
Everytime, I start KDE Neon, it boots up to the login screen after the blue KDE
splash screen. In the login screen, when I enter my password, it gets stuck. I
have to force restart my laptop around 5-7 times before it proceeds normally,
but then it loads in an instant with all effects working. If I boot into
recovery mode, and then boot from there, I am able to login, but with
artifacting sometimes, and no effects, which I know is due to video driver
issues when booted from recovery. Using "nomodeset" in the grub also causes the
same result as booting from recovery.

Note that I'm now on Kernel 4.6 Stable, but the issue was there even on Kernel
4.4

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login normally

Actual Results:
It gets stuck. Force restart 5-7 times and then it loads up properly.

Expected Results:
It should login properly everytime.

System Hardware-
Dell Inspiron 7559 running KDE Neon 5.7 with Linux Kernel 4.6 / 4.4.
Dual booting with Windows 10 (Windows loads up normally).
