Hello David, sorry for not answering that long. The patch you provided should fix the issue. Unfortunately I cannot not test it at the moment, so I cannot push it. However, I fixed the bug in the master branch (it is slightly different there). Is there someone who can compile 4.8 and push the patch from David?
