Bug ID: 436491 Summary: Do not hide the notifications icon if they are not deleted Product: plasmashell Version: 5.21.4 Platform: Other OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Notifications Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de Reporter: kde.podag...@slmail.me CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY As it is now, it is hidden even though there are pending notifications. This doesn't make much sense to me. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Receive a notification 2. Access the notification icon 3. Try to access the notification again OBSERVED RESULT You will need to go to the hidden icons to access the notification again, because the widget was hidden, but I didn't delete the notification (which would be the same thing as "mark as read"), so the widget should still be visible. EXPECTED RESULT It should at least be possible to hide it only when all notifications are read/deleted. This is how most other desktops work, because it is more logical. And because opening the widget does not mean that you have read all notifications or that they are no longer relevant. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.81.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.11.16-zen1-1-zen OS Type: 64-bit Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz Memory: 4 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa DRI Intel® HD Graphics 4600 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION And yes, you could keep it always active, but just as it doesn't make sense to hide it when notifications are pending, it doesn't make sense to display it when there is nothing to be read. This can be quite annoying when you are a new user of plasma and/or are trying to migrate from another DE. Since most of them work this way I mentioned. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
