The date range is not so random but +/- 3 months from the current date which is
shown in the center of the diagram. The balances of the account in the future
are based on the forecast method chosen in the forecast plugin.
All the features you ask for are found in the report section. Start out with
the networth graph and configure it to only include the account you look for.
I changed this entry into a wishlist item.
