Fonic <fonic.max...@live.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |fonic.max...@live.com --- Comment #79 from Fonic <fonic.max...@live.com> --- I'm having the same issue. It began right after upgrading to 20.12.3-r1 (current stable version on Gentoo Linux amd64). (In reply to J.D from comment #78) > I narrowed it down even more than Knut Hildebrandt: > Huge jump in ram usage happens instantly when I open big files(e.g movies) > with double-click or by Enter. Ram does not increase at all if instead I > open a file with right-click and manually select `Open with XYZ`. I can reproduce this as follows: - open Dolphin -> RAM usage ~25MB - click on ISO image -> Ark opens up, RAM usage of Dolphin jumps to ~550MB - right-click -> Open with Ark -> RAM usage stays at ~25MB I thinks it's worth mentioning that yesterday, when I noticed this, three Dolphin instances were consuming ~5GB and plasmashell at the same time was also consuming large amounts of RAM (~2GB). Maybe this is related somehow. Hopefully this gets fixed soon, with Dolphin being such an important part of everyday KDE use.
