For the record, my plasma/digikam setup runs on :
1/ a vmware virtual machine runnning on a MacOS host, which shows in Xorg.log
as :
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/vmware_drv.so
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/modesetting_drv.so
(II) vmware: driver for VMware SVGA: vmware0405, vmware0710
(--) vmware(0): DRM driver version is 2.18.0
(II) vmware(0): [DRI2] DRI driver: vmwgfx
2/ a quite old computer (which I can't access for the moment) :
- nvidia graphic card 9650-GT
- nvidia proprietary legacy driver 340-xx
Now, considering that (i) the crash I have is not reroducible by you on
OpenSuse Tumbleweed and (ii) it is not reproducible with the appimage, there
are very high chances that the issue is linked to particularities in my two
setups. I will investigate on my side and try to run an OpenSuse Tumbleweed
inside a virtual machine. I will report back, but I can't really do that for
the moment.
