Which is not surprising, since you're using Kali Linux, which is not intended as a general-purpose distro. All sorts of random things like this will be broken. Ordinarily I would tell you to contact the distro packagers so that they can correct the problem, but instead I would strongly (very very strongly) recommend that you re-install your system with a different distro recommend for general use.
