Thanks for your report! The typewriter is a new effect in our framework MLT. We
planned to add it for 21.04 but I added a fix to support the effect with
upcoming version 20.12.3

To use the effect with your current version try to copy the attached file to 

~/.local/share/kdenlive/effects/

P.S. more advanced options like typewriter for single text elements within a
title are coming soon.
