SUMMARY
When playing back previous projects, Kdenlive will quit when playing clips
which have either a fade in or fade out effect. I have confirmed this by
disabling all fade in and fade out effects, then replaying the video. This has
happened since updating to 20.12.1, and 20.12.2. I used to use 20.12.0 with
success, and although Kdenlive did quit when rendering using 20.12.0, I didn't
have any problems playing back projects.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a previous project which has fade in or fade out effects.
2. Play back the video.
3. Once Kdenlive gets to a clip which has a fade in or fade out effect, it
quits.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 20.10
KDE Frameworks Version: KDE Frameworks 5.74.0
Qt Version: Qt 5.14.2 (built against 5.14.2)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
MLT version 6.25.0
Have also tried the 20.12.1 appimage version, which seems to reproduce the same
results.
