The problem should only occur if the tags view in the right sidebar is open and
many images are selected. In order to get the tag status (selected, partially
selected, etc.) the tags and metadata of all images must be read. This is a
sequential process for MySQL that is quite slow. I don't see any way to improve
it at the moment. In frequent queries, MySQL is significantly slower as than
SQLite on an SSD.
