Maybe you could add it to the systray app as well?
I find it very annoying to have to open the applet using right click and
selecting audio volume settings.
It's the one reason why I still use kmix, because it is just easier faster to
readjust the volume of an app.
Also from a UI perspective, I would rather use vertical sliders like kmix does.
This is especially helpful if there are many sliders. Remember, that most
screens are widescreen these days.
Thus, they align better.
