--- Comment #103 from Uwe Dippel <udip...@gmail.com> ---
@Alex: It sounds like a dupe, but one can't be sure because of the 'sometimes'
in the description. Also, the 'not visible' has never happened to me throughout
the years of suffering. Icons were ALWAYS visible here, though coherently
re-placed on the screen whenever a REDUCTION of resolution was encountered.
INCREASING the screen resolution would result in the icons re-appearing in
their respective most recent positions on said screen of lower resolution, ie
the upper left corner.

(Though slightly OT here, to all: It seems we have no file recording a specific
file for desktop layout? I am asking because a few days ago my kubuntu 20.04
Desktop - for yet unknown reason - had disappeared at normal logout-login;
reverting with a basic screen with three icons in the upper left corner, and
the standard login background image with the split diagonale. If we had this
file, one could at least save some layout, and reinstate it later; either at a
situation like described in the bug, or one like I encountered.)
