eezacque, can you please test with melt and ffmpeg if the same or similar
problem happens when you try to play your particular movie file? As Kdenlive
uses ffmpeg for decoding and MLT for playing av media, it is probably a general
issue out of scope of Kdenlive. Which MLT and ffmpeg versions do you have
installed. Also, without the concrete movie file, it is impossible to reproduce
your problem. The report at this time is not extemely useful, I'm afraid.
