The issue occurs on Wayland and X11 here as well, its effects are just way more visible on Wayland. It might be the same bug, even if it's triggered by different things. If I run dolphin with >QT_LOGGING_RULES="kf.service.sycoca=true" dolphin I get a bunch of new lines about opening ksycoca or waiting for already running ksycoca about twice every second.
