wasted space

I have a laptop with small screen 15.6" and when I open some sub-categories in
system settings it's appears really crowded and there is no left space for the
target view that I want to use. For example if open font management I end up
with 5 columns in the view where only the last column at right that I want to
use. See attached image for more info.
What I mean is that when I click on sub category the left side can be hidden
and back button appear at top to return to top level.
This behavior exists when I minimize settings window at certain size, but it
would be cool to have it for even maximized setting window.
See attached video for more info.
