Bug ID: 428917 Summary: kcachegrind hangs with high CPU use when selecting certain functions Product: kcachegrind Version: unspecified Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: josef.weidendor...@gmx.de Reporter: zor...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 133189 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=133189&action=edit gdb backtrace when program becomes unresponsive SUMMARY kcachegrind and qcachegrind both freeze with high CPU use when selecting certain functions. Brief testing seems to suggest it is functions where the source is not available, but I'm not 100% sure. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run a D program under valgrind and callgrind 2. Open the generated callgrind in kcachegrind 3. Select function "_start" in the left-hand list OBSERVED RESULT Program becomes unresponsive and CPU usage soars. It has to be forcefully closed. EXPECTED RESULT Function is selected and it says its source is not available (assuming the Source Code tab is selected). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Distribution: Manjaro x86_64 kcachegrind: 20.08.2 KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0 Qt Version: 5.15.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Attaching gdb backtrace from when it hangs. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
