Hi,

"01 Nov 2020 21:26:38 +0900: Failed to create a simple backup for
C:/Users/Stuart/Desktop/test.kra in the same location as the file."

This error happens if there is already a file with the name test.kra~ that
cannot be removed on the desktop, either because it is open, or because it is
write-protected. It can also happen if the Desktop folder isn't writable or if
Controlled Access Folder is enabled in Windows Defender
(https://docs.krita.org/en/KritaFAQ.html#windows-krita-cannot-save)

There really isn't anything we can do about that in Krita: it's not a bug in
Krita's code or in Qt's code.

I'm really sorry, but we really cannot help you further with this.
