Greg I've just tested this in kate from git master and cannot reproduce the
issue with the entire text from the link you provided.
I used Vivaldi (chromium based) and pasted into kate.
Can you please re-retest and confirm if this is still an issue.
Patrick if this is still happening for you please provide a link to the text so
I can test as well.
