            Bug ID: 428429
Summary: Graphical errors that appear somewhat frequently
           Product: kwin
           Version: 5.20.2
          Platform: Neon Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: scene-opengl
          Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: mich...@erikgranger.name
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

With an AMD RX590, using the Oibaf PPA drivers, I'll experience graphical
artifacts every 10-20 minutes or so. It will appear as though a portion of the
screen is stuck in place, and will ignore the rest of the screen around it. For
instance, if using a web browser, you can scroll down but part of the window
won't update to indicate that you have, while another part does. I managed to
grab a screenshot of this effect (occurring within the shader wallpaper).

If I go to the compositor settings, and toggle the rendering backend to OpenGL
2.0, apply, then switch it back to OpenGL 3.1, this fixes all graphical errors
temporarily.
