The options currently available have no data on "less popular" countries. Not
everyone lives in the big metropolises, so we are still important.
openweathermap is one of the few sites that has data on smaller cities around
the world.
This addon is currently compatible with OWM but has not received updates for a
long time. Maybe it's useful to see how it was implemented.
