Bug ID: 426580 Summary: Random Freezes 20.04 Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: shagooser...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I get a partial system freeze whereby sometimes the active window or all open windows are unresponsive normally for at least 10 seconds but can be minutes. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. It is totally random, no set steps to reproduce. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.12.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have 4 PCs running Kubuntu 20.04 and the 2 newest machines randomly partially freeze from a few seconds to a few minutes. I normally have mouse control outside of an active window and I can alt-tab out of full screen programs that have frozen. It may happen twice a day or it may happen only once per week. The syslog and kernel log show nothing happening at the time of the freeze. The 2 affected machines run an AMD processor and X470 and X570 MB and Nvidia 1050 and 1080 GPU. The working perfectly machines both run earlier generation CPU and MB though one has a Nvidia 1060. One of the affected PCs is a dual and Windows has not frozen though in fairness it is only useing Windows 2 hours per day. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
