Bug ID: 425250 Summary: Computer freezes Randomly Product: kwin Version: 5.18.5 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: core Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: a.saout...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Do stuff OBSERVED RESULT Computer freezes at random moments, roughly once a day. Requires restart/reset. Noticeably it's the window that freezes, audio still continues from programs such as Zoom. during my most recent freeze, I once tried alt tabbing to a Youtube video that paused and tried to resume it but it didn't work (couldn't hear anything). So it seems like KWin isn't able to process keyboard events at that moment in time. This could just be a Kernel issue, but am happy to collect any other useful info needed to diagnose exactly what is going on. EXPECTED RESULT No freezing SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Kubuntu 20.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.12.8 Kernel Version: 5.4.0-42-generic OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 12 × Intel® Core™ i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
