            Bug ID: 423703
Summary: Edit menu Tamil translation error: Block Selection
                    Mode
           Product: kate
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: kuzha...@pm.me
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Kate Version: 17.12.3
Kubuntu 18.04

The Tamil translation of 'Block Selection Mode' menu item under Kate -> Edit
menu is incorrect. It is currently shown as 'தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் முறையை தடு',
which means
'block the selection mode', but the intended meaning is rather 'a mode in which
you could select rectangular blocks', which should translate to 'பாளம் பாளமாக
தேர்ந்தெடு'. The error is probably due to the more common alternative meaning of
'block' as in 'to block something' rather than rectangular blocks meant here.

Incorrect: தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் முறையை தடு
Correct: பாளம் பாளமாக தேர்ந்தெடு (or alternatively கட்டம் கட்டமாக தேர்ந்தெடு).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set system language to Tamil. Open Kate.
2. Click the Edit menu.
3. The incorrectly translated item is the 10th menu item from the top, the one
with the Ctrl+Shift+B option.

OBSERVED RESULT

தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் முறையை தடு

EXPECTED RESULT

பாளம் பாளமாக தேர்ந்தெடு (or alternatively கட்டம் கட்டமாக தேர்ந்தெடு).
