I installed neon-unstable-20200614-1102.iso that ships Dolphin 20.07.70 KDE Frameworks 5.72.0 Qt 5.14.2 Krusader 2.8.0-dev GNOME Nautilus 3.26.4 I can still reproduce the problem with Dolphin, it's a bit more responsive than 19.12.2 but it still hangs. Krusader performs much better but not as good as Nautilus which is almost with no stuttering while browsing huge directories.
