Bug ID: 422932 Summary: When night color feature is inactive, the tooltip of Night Color applet shows wrong/inaccurate info Product: kdeplasma-addons Version: 5.19.0 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Night Color Control Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: bugsefor...@gmx.com CC: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org, vlad.zahorod...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 129323 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=129323&action=edit tooltip when Night Color feature is not in use SUMMARY When Night Color feature is enabled in System Settings but it's not in use... 1. the tooltip of the systray applet says that the color temperature is 6.500K even when a different value is set in Night Color kcm. 2. the tooltip says "Night Color is active", that sounds inaccurate because the night color feature is enabled in Night Color kcm but it's inactive (not in use). This text could be changed to something more accurate like "Night Color is inactive", but then it would sound confuse. The user could think: "The option 'Activate Night Color' is checked in Night Color kcm but the tooltip of the systray applet says that it is still inactive? How so?" lol See the first attached screenshot please. When night color is active, the tooltip of the systray applet correctly shows the color temperature configured in Night Color kcm. See the 2nd attached screenshot. EXPECTED RESULT the tooltip of night color applet should indicate clearly that such feature is enabled but inactive.
