Bug ID: 422697 Summary: Task manager doesn't group Firefox after reboot. Product: plasmashell Version: 5.10.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: linuxguy...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Task manager doesn't group Firefox after reboot. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add a panel. Add a task manager widget. Behavior -> Group by program name, open groups in popup. Disable Group only when task manager is full. Sort manually. Keep launchers separate. Show only tasks from current desktop. Show only tasks from current activity. 2. Open 20 to 50 Firefox instances. Observe that they group properly in task manager. 3. sudo reboot OBSERVED RESULT The workstation reboots properly. The Firefox instances all restart and appear as individual items in Task Manager. Task Manager does not group them at all. To get them to regroup, one must manually open every instance on the desktop and then minimize it. This is a very time consuming process if you have a large number of instances open. When you minimize the instances, Task Manager groups them properly. It appears that Task Manager must group upon a window minimize event. I think on startup after a reboot it will need to group on something else. EXPECTED RESULT After reboot all the Firefox instances should be grouped into one Task Manager item for Firefox. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 32.
