This is because the configuration module is launched with kcmshell:
> kcmshell5 kcm_plasmasearch
If you launch it with systemsettings it works as you wish:
> systemsettings5 kcm_plasmasearch
There has also been a patch to open the config modules in systemsettings (for
instance if you type "mouse" in KRunner), maybe this should use systemsettings
instead of kcmshell too?
