            Bug ID: 422454
Summary: Ordering of profiles in konsole applet
           Product: kdeplasma-addons
           Version: 5.18.5
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: konsoleprofiles
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: barn...@comcast.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The profiles in the konsole profile applet appear to be unordered. The
sequence in which the profiles are listed changes with each new KDE session
and there doesn't appear to be any way to sort the list, either in a
configuration setting or dynamically. If you have more than a handful of
profiles the usefulness of this applet is greatly diminished.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a few konsole profiles
2. Click on the konsole profile applet - the profiles are listed in a random
seeming order.
3. Log out of your KDE session and log back in
4. Click on the konsole profile applet - the profiles are listed in a different
random seeming order.

OBSERVED RESULT
The profiles are listed in a random and changing order.

EXPECTED RESULT
The profiles should be listed in a fixed order (sequenced by profile name
maybe) or the user should be able to determine the presentation sequence via a
configuration setting or on-screen dynamic option. If giving the user
sequencing options is too complicated the applet should at least present the
profiles in a fixed unchanging sequence so that the user can 'learn' where the
profiles appear in the list.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 32
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0
Qt Version: 5.13.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This problem is similar to but not quite the same as bug 173834 which was fixed
in KDE 4 in 2014.
