Just encountered this on Kubuntu 16.04 (on VirtualBox 5 on Windows 10). Double
clicking on taskbars began having no effect.
The problem began recently after many weeks of normal behavior. I did recently
open my Mouse KDE Control Module to try and figure out what was going on with
an unrelated virtualbox mouse bug (cursor position a few pixels off) but
pressed the "defaults" button on the Control Module after messing around.
The double click interval was at 400 msec. I tried changing it to 800ms and the
problem persisted. BUT! Then I changed it back down to 400 and as soon as I
clicked apply, the problem was fixed!
