In particular, Kezik submitted a patch to disable smooth scrolling for now, to implement it better later. WONTFIX would be INTENDED, but this might also be NOT A BUG. This animated scrolling is probably not worth a configuration option, because you use it much less often than regular scrolling, and so is much less annoying. Maybe it should follow the system setting for GUI animations.
