I've also been experiencing this issue for a while now. I'm using a multi-head
setup but I never connect/disconnect monitors and I've got a static xrandr
script applied via SDDM DisplayCommand.
In my case it seems that plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc is the only
file that gets reset and usually what I need to do is simply restoring the
correct file from a snapshot.
