Typically, the file open by Exiv2 library while scanning will appear. Crash must follow just later. Depending of many core you have on your mac, the real file crashing the library can be one from _n_ steps/cores in the trace, no more. I recommend to isolate album first containing many image. Import only this album and see if crash is reproducible. If yes, removing images step by step will permit to isolate the problematic file.
